When yous're feeling under the weather, at that place'south cipher quite as comforting equally a bowl of soup. My grandma always made Mrs. Grass soup for me when I was ill, and I came to beloved its signature taste. I remember watching her prepare it: She'd put the soup mix and noodles into boiling water, so she'd add the magic ingredient—the aureate egg.

Recently I was feeling a cold coming on, so I bought some Mrs. Grass soup. Only when I opened the box, I was shocked to notice my beloved magic egg wasn't there!

And then, what'south this magic egg all about?

If you lot've never had Mrs. Grass soup, permit me press interruption and make full you in on why this is such a big deal. The "magic egg" was included in the package (like the ones shown above), along with the noodles and soup mix. This Golden Flavor Nugget, as it was called by Wyler'southward, the original soup maker, released craven bouillon, oils and additional flavor into the water as it boiled, giving Mrs. Grass soup its signature taste. Possibly the egg never made information technology into my box. I decided to investigate.

Turns out, I'm not the only one who missed the egg.

I was surprised to learn that many others were noticing missing eggs, too. Information technology seems the nuggets began vanishing sometime in 2022. I reached out to the Heinz Co., the current maker of Mrs. Grass, and they sent the post-obit reply:

"In an effort to proceed offering a improve product to our consumer, we've removed the Golden Egg Flavor Brawl from our Mrs. Grass Homestyle Noodle & Vegetable Soups. The Golden Egg Flavor Brawl volition no longer be reflected on the packaging."

While that'south not much of an explanation, information technology doesn't sound similar the egg is coming back someday soon. I'm disappointed, to be certain, just thankfully at that place are plenty of homemade soups to be had if you miss the egg besides much to go back.

Psst: Heinz (and these other beloved brands) is way older than you may recollect.
