No Open Endings for Fallout: New Vegas
Much like Radioactive dust 3, Fallout: Freshly Vegas will closing when information technology's o'er, only Obsidian is taking steps to make it easy for players to go back and keep playacting once they've seen how everything wraps up.
One of the most common complaints about Fallout 3 centered around the conclusiveness of the master copy ending. When it was over, it was over, as was whatever hope that players might have had more or less wandering the waste like many sort of present Captain Walker. The Distributed Steel DLC changed the mountainous finish, making it bald-ended, but if you weren't up to compensable extra to latch on, you were out of luck.
In spite of that unfavorable response, the Saame is planned for Fallout: New Vegas. In the second part of the Side effect: New Vegas "Fan Interview," Obsidian's Josh Sawyer beetle said the studio "really longed-for" to let players keep releas aft the big finale, just that doing so wouldn't fit with its vision for the game. "Ultimately we realized that supporting berth-endgame content would jeopardize the quality of the ending, which we hot to tell the definitive stories for all of our senior factions, locations and characters," helium explained.
"Instead, after the credits roll the game will quick you to reload a save created just before the end game sequence, allowing players to extend to back and complete any quests they may have missed," he continuing. "Additionally, we survive very clear when you're astir to get to the end of the main plot, so it shouldn't come across as a storm."
Obsidian is, all the same, ensuring that the game can be finished without whatever violent death – or, conversely, with nothing but killing. "There are ways to win the briny patch by kill nobelium ane and aside killing everyone. It was one of our first excogitation tenets," Sawyer said. "You will find information technology difficult to get by as a pacifist, and you volition overlea a great deal of content by killing everyone you meet, but it can be done."
Side effect: New Vegas is scheduled for release along October 19 for the Personal computer, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
